How to Update BIOS MSI Motherboard

How to update BIOS MSI Motherboard? Here we are!

1. Make sure that you have an access to the internet, and a USB flash drive.

2. Download The BIOS Update from MSI website. You can type in Google search the model of your motherboard. After searching result shown, make sure you get your motherboard model / series website. Then click support, and click BIOS. Here you can choose the BIOS you need, and download it untill finished.

3. Transfer BIOS Update File to USB Flash Drive. The USB Flash Drive must be FAT32 Extension. Make sure the BIOS file extracted all and put it on your USB Flash Drive.

4. Restart the computer and enter BIOS. You can do this by mashing the dedicated BIOS key on the keyboard. Usually DEL or F2.

5. Use USB to Flash BIOS. Inside the BIOS, you should Select the M-FLASH tab. At this stage, the BIOS will confirm that the system will boot from the flash drive and ask you to confirm the action. Select Yes.

6. Select the BIOS Update file from USB Flash Drive. Your PC will now restart and load in flash mode. It will show the files within the flash drive and ask you to choose one. Simply select the BIOS update and click OK.

7. System will restart, the BIOS is now updating. Simply let the BIOS update, after which the PC will restart and boot into your operating system. Never power OFF your PC when system updating the BIOS! Because it can make your BIOS crash.

You can check to make sure your BIOS has been updated by going to system information.

How to Update Bios Gigabyte Motherboard

The very easy motherboard BIOS update is Gigabyte. This vendor have a special software to update your BIOS easily. Yeah, @bios is the software name. Gigabyte usualy put this software on CD driver bundled on your new motherboard. So you can download the BIOS file and Install the BIOS update with this software.

3.Before you start.....

  I. If your system supports Intel Hyper-Threading technology, please kindly disable the function in the BIOS.

  II. Please close all applications and TSR (such as anti-virus program) under Windows to avoid unexpect error whiling BIOS update.

4.Methods and steps :

    I. Save BIOS

In the very beginning, there is "Save Current BIOS" icon shown in dialog box. It means to save the current BIOS version.

    II. Update BIOS through Internet

a. Click "Internet Update" icon

b. Click "Update New BIOS" icon

c. Select @BIOS sever ( "GIGABYTE @BIOS server 1 in Taiwan" ,

"GIGABYTE @BIOS server 2 in Taiwan" ,

"GIGABYTE @BIOS server in China" ,

"GIGABYTE @BIOS server in Japan" ,

"GIGABYTE @BIOS server in USA" are available for now, the others will be completed soon)

d. Select the exact model name on your motherboard

e. System will automatically download and update the BIOS.

    III. Update BIOS NOT through Internet :

a. Do not click "Internet Update" icon

b. Click "Update New BIOS"

c. Please select "All Files" in dialog box while opening the old file.

d. Please search for BIOS unzip file, downloading from internet or any other methods (such as: 6OXM7E.F1).

e. Complete update process following the instruction.

5. Note : 

a. In method I, if it shows two or more motherboard's model names to be selected, please make sure your motherboard's model name again. Selecting wrong model name will cause the system unbooted.

b. In method II, be sure that motherboard's model name in BIOS unzip file are the same as your motherboard's. Otherwise, your system won't boot.

c. In method I, if the BIOS file you need cannot be found in @BIOS server, please go onto GIGABYTE's web site for downloading and updating it according to method II.

d. Please note that any interruption during updating will cause system unbooted.

How to Update Bios ECS H61 Motherboard Ivybridge 3rd Gen 22nm Support

I have updated BIOS for many motherboards ever before. But ECS H61 motherboard is a very difficult one. Make me Confused. Because all I do can fix the update. 

So let me show you how to update the BIOS for this motherboard.

Please read the notes carefully before updating BIOS.

1. Do not update the BIOS if the system is running fine. Unsuccessful BIOS flash may cause the system fails to boot up. The manufacturer is not responsible for any BIOS flash failure.

2. Make sure your M/B PCB version number first, and then read the updated description & special note carefully to check if the new BIOS version patch pertain to your current problem.

3. Please DO NOT reboot system,unplug power supply and remove battery during BIOS update process.

4. It is recommended to use the updated flash utility included in each BIOS download package.

6. Before updating BIOS, please check your BIOS ME version. If BIOS ME version is 8.X ,Please DO NOT update below BIOS, it will cause your system to crash. (BIOS Setting: Chipset > ME Configuration=>Check ME FW Version)
